A question was e-mailed in recently that asked about the top ways to make money thru blogging. With so many changes and opportunities out there, this is a good list for periodic updating. I thought about the issue and want to share with all my readers my top ten ways;
Top Ten Ways to Make Money Through Blogging-
- Quality Content- Above all else, quality content that's regularly published is the key to keep readers coming back for more of what you have to say. If you're writing posts that readers enjoy reading, they will re-visit regularly to read your new posts. Having regular readers is a great way to maintain and increase traffic to your blog and if your blog isn't updated, your readers won't know if it still exists!
- SEO- Without a doubt SEO has been a favorite way to get traffic to blogs. The Google algorithm loves blogs, which makes SEO a great means to get traffic . There are many SEO tips out there, be careful what you use as some may end up penalizing your blog. For more ideas, try this blog.
- Commenting- Leaving quality comments on blogs related to yours is a great way to get new targeted traffic to your blog. It is also an excellent way to build relationships with other bloggers. It's important to keep to similarly themed blogs.
- Networking- The single most important skill for making big money on-line. It is also a great way to build traffic to your blog. Communicate with other loggers; new and experienced alike and share your information and questions.
- Link bait- Create posts that are designed to grab reader’s attention. Controversial posts are often associated with link bait, but there are plenty of other ways to create link bait. Top ## lists make for good link bait and so do posts that are out of the ordinary in some way.
- Digg/Reedit/Technocrat/Stumble upon- If you haven’t signed up for these, you should. These are great blog traffic sources. Learn how to make best use of them by being on-line.
- Link Out- Link liberally to other blogs in your posts. Many bloggers keep track of incoming links to their blog and will check out your blog when you link to them. This is another way to help get comments and to network with other loggers.
- List Posts- Posts with lists appear to generate more traffic to blogs. They tend to get book-marked and voted on more on social sites. The more list posts you post, the more traffic you will likely get.
- Word Of Mouth- Tell your friends, family and co-workers about your blog and specific posts on your blog. You will be surprised by how much traffic that can generate.
- Blog Memes- Create a blog meme and tag other bloggers. Check them out.
