Anybody that would leave a comment like, "Great Post" on my blog, I consider it as spam and delete it. The commentator, has to convinced me that they have read the post and that the comment they leave, adds value to my blog and for my readers.
I think that way too many people are just chasing down and kind of link that they can get, and it is a waste of time. With Google these days, links carry more weight when they are related to your niche. Links that aren't related to your niche, could actually hurt your ranking and pagerank. That one, is my opinion. But, since Google is after content, it stands that your backlinks would follow the same suit as well.

I think that bloggers should find other blogs which are related and form a network with them. Commenting and supporting each other, will strengthen all parties involved.
